Although there are no seasons, in Colombia you will encounter a wide variety of climate zones. There are few places in the world where you can go from a hot and humid tropical climate to the freezing temperatures of the perpetually snow-capped Andes in a matter of hours.

According to these differences in climate and geography, Colombia is divided into six natural zones: Amazonía (the Amazon basin), Andina (the Andes), Caribe (the Caribbean), Insular (the islands), Pacífica (the Pacific) and Orinoquía (the Orinoco basin), each with their own cultural features as well.
